I was one of his babysitters while he wrote the book. His girls were amazing. Had children of my own and used his book...it works! And so much and so, my youngest was labelled gifted. I used raisins for treats. Started them all at 2 and reading quite well by 2 and 1/2. Just be prepared when out and about to stop and read just about everything LOL. I don't believe my son was gifted, just had the fourth dimension to spend with him. By the time he was 4, he was doing arithmetics in the thousands and starting up Majestic C I was one of his babysitters while he wrote the book. His girls were amazing. Had children of my ain and used his book...information technology works! So much so, my youngest was labelled gifted. I used raisins for treats. Started them all at 2 and reading quite well by 2 and 1/two. Just be prepared when out and virtually to stop and read merely about everything LOL. I don't believe my son was gifted, just had the time to spend with him. By the time he was four, he was doing arithmetics in the thousands and starting up Purple Conservatory piano. Would anyone acknowledge, these days, that they used this book and liked it? I swear that I was not a pushy parent...merely I did have a three-yr-old who was ready for reading, and there wasn't much out at that place that was age-advisable. The activities from this book were fun and quite painless, and the egg-carton game became a family learning-to-read tradition. Would anyone admit, these days, that they used this book and liked it? I actually didn't read this book - Simply - my young single mom did, back in the 70's. This book is the reason I was reading at three years old, and I believe it quite literally inverse the form of my life. I still retrieve counting out my chocolate chips in the egg cartons. It instilled in me a lifelong passion for reading and learning. Give thanks you!

This volume was more of a "Captains Log" of the procedure he used to learn how to teach his children to read. His "How to teach your child to read in ten minutes a twenty-four hours" is better and more than precise if you want a how-to manual. It's interesting, although the basic concepts are the aforementioned, his suggested method for pedagogy varies in the two books and in "Raising Brighter Children, a programme for busy parents", the latter being my favorite of the three. This book was more of a "Captains Log" of the procedure he used to learn how to teach his children to read. His "How to teach your child to read in 10 minutes a 24-hour interval" is better and more precise if you desire a how-to transmission. It's interesting, although the basic concepts are the same, his suggested method for teaching varies in the two books and in "Raising Brighter Children, a program for decorated parents", the latter being my favorite of the three. ...more
